Welcome to the 2012 Frye Festival

Our Government recognizes that arts and culture stimulate our economy, create jobs, and generate wealth in our communities. This is why we support cultural events like the Frye Festival, which makes a valuable contribution to the cultural scene in the Greater Moncton area and throughout the province. Since its inception, the Frye Festival has presented a multitude of activities that celebrate the written and spoken word. This year’s event will be especially significant, however, since it coincides with the 100th anniversary of the birth of Northrop Frye, who inspired this literary gathering.

On behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Government of Canada, I commend organizers and volunteers for bringing this unique event to life. Enjoy the Festival!

Premier David AlwardIn the 12 years since its first edition in 2000, the Frye Festival has grown into one of Canada’s most eclectic and energetic literary events, attracting authors of world-wide prominence and emerging talent alike.

Its bilingual status offers festival-goers a unique and highly gratifying encounter with the richness of our two official languages. The Government of New Brunswick is extremely proud to support the Festival and to welcome authors and visitors to our province and to the Greater Moncton area.

Enjoy the Festival.
