Goodbye and thank you, Danielle

It’s with a heavy heart that the entire team at the Frye Festival bids farewell to Danielle LeBlanc, who has been at the helm of the Frye Festival for 7 years. Danielle's exemplary professionalism and devotion throughout the years have allowed the Frye Festival to grow and become a must-attend readers' and writers' event with an enviable reputation throughout the country and internationally. We are deeply grateful to her and wish her continued success and happiness as she embarks on her new journey.

Welcome, Diana

We are excited to welcome our new executive director, Diana Newton. Diana is thrilled to have joined the Frye Festival. She brings us both vast experience in project management and an in-depth knowledge of the literary sector, and she intends to put those attributes to work as she works with us to promote and grow the Festival. An experienced, senior-level, fully bilingual (English and French) book publishing and creative writing consultant, editor, translator, and researcher, Diana has worked for 20 years with the book publishing industries in Canada, the U.S., and overseas. She has undertaken over 30 consultancies in Africa, the Americas, the Arab World, and Asia for a wide range of clients, including the World Bank, UNESCO, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), and Canadian book publishers. The author of numerous publications on book publishing, Diana holds an M.A. from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, in Ottawa, as well as an earlier M.Sc. in architecture from the Technical University in Vienna, Austria.
