Born in Ottawa and raised in the Moncton area, Barbara Quigley became the City Clerk / Director of Legislative Services for the City of Moncton in January 2000. Her office is the gateway to Moncton City Council and she is responsible for the Council Services, public access to Council, management of all meetings of the City Council and the Mayor’s Office. She is also responsible for administration of the Right to Information and the Protection of Privacy Act for the City of Moncton. She has previously worked in Human Resources and Corporate Communications.
Barbara joined the Board of Directors of the Festival Frye Festival in 2001 and has worked on a number of committees associated with the Board. Other previous board work includes Horizon Health Network Board of Directors for four years, the Peter Gzowski Invitational Fundraiser for 10 years and she is the former President of the Association of Municipal Administrators of New Brunswick, having served the association in numerous capacities prior to her presidency.
Barbara fronted a popular bilingual folk band the Quigley Ensemble for 12 years and performed throughout Canada, parts of the US and France. The group recorded three albums.
