Born in Broussard in 1980, Daniel Grenier is a translator and novelist. He published his first book, Malgré tout on rit à Saint-Henri, in 2012. His novel L’année la plus longue, which won the Prix littéraire des collégiens and was shortlisted for the Governor General’s Literary Awards, followed in 2015. Two years later, his non-fiction book La solitude de l’écrivain de fond was also shortlisted for the Governor General’s Literary Awards. L’année la plus longue was published in France (Flammarion) and translated into English by Pablo Strauss for House of Anansi Press under the title The Longest Year. His fourth book, Françoise en dernier, came out in 2018. He lives in Québec City.
