Each year, the Frye Festival chooses a Poète Flyée who will have the important task of writing original poetry throughout the Festival. The poet will write two original and bilingual poems inspired by the Festival. The first poem is read at our Opening Ceremony, and the second is read at Frye Jam (one of our marquee events). The artists can draw inspiration from the authors invited to the Festival, their books, the events, Northrop Frye, and any other specific aspect of each new Festival edition. This Poète flyée program offers a platform for new and young artists to share their writing with our bilingual community. We are proud to encourage emerging writers to expand their creativity and play an important role within the Festival.
