After studying cinema (UQAC) and art history (UQAM), Karoline Georges pursued multidisciplinary arts projects commingling video, audio, photography, literature, and 3D modelling.
Her works have been presented across Canada, Europe, and the Americas, most notably at the FILE - Electronic Language International Festival in Brazil, the Rencontres internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid, the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of Cartagena de Indias, the Vancouver Visible Verse Festival, ORANGE, the Événement d'art actuel in Saint-Hyacinthe, the Biennale Internationale des poètes en Val-de-Marne, and the Festival Voix d'Amérique. Her “REPÈRES” project was longlisted for the 2017 Lumen Prize in the United Kingdom and was an official selection of the 4th Ó Bhéal Poetry-film Competition in Ireland in 2016. Karoline Georges also received the Prix à la création artistique from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec in 2012 and the FutureFest Art Prize (United Kingdom) in 2016.
She is the author of seven books, including Sous béton (Alto), shortlisted for the Prix des libraires du Québec in 2012 and published in Gallimard's prestigious Folio SF collection. Her latest novel, De synthèse (Alto), won several prizes, including the Jacques Brossard prize, the Arlette Cousture prize, and the Governor General's Literary Award in 2018.
