Evoking Place in Your Writing

Masterclass with Ayelet Tsabari

June 25, 2022 | 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. | Community Peace Centre, Moncton

Description

Emerging and established writers are invited to join award-winning writer Ayelet Tsabari in a masterclass exploring writing about places!

Evoking a profound sense of “being there” in writing is one of the most important elements of prose, and a way of immersing the reader in our narrative. Participants will discuss how to create mood and evoke emotion through the description of place, and will think of place as a potential character in their work. Drawing from examples by successful practitioners of the craft, and following guided exercises, participants will learn to use setting as the basis for creating dramatic and engaging stories.

Offered in partnership with the Writers Federation of New Brunswick and MAGMA.
