Yves Trottier is a Quebecois author born in 1973 in Normandin, in the Lac Saint-Jean region of Québec. He holds an undergraduate degree in history and political Science from the Royal Military College of Canada, as well as an officer’s certificate from the Canadian Forces. After leaving the Forces, he completed master’s degrees in political science at Queen's University and in philosophy at the Université de Montréal. He has taught English in South Korea and history and political science at the Canadian Defence Academy's Centre for the Professional Development of Non-Commissioned Members. In 2007, he decided to change careers and devote himself entirely to writing. He enrolled in the humour writing program at the École nationale de l'humour. He has written for television (for the show Et Dieu créa... Laflaque) and collaborated on several comedy projects. Yves Trottier also worked as a Transportation Supervisor at the Canadian National Railway and as Operations Manager for the Société de transport de Montréal. He is now back at the École nationale de l'humour as Pedagogical Director and continues to pursue his career as a novelist.
