Frye Festival is Atlantic Canada’s biggest literary happening and a bilingual celebration of books, ideas and imagination.
Our mission is to create opportunities to connect, New Brunswick, Canadian and international authors with our community.
Our vision is to make literature from Canada and abroad accessible, and to help promote a vibrant culture of reading and writing.
It is crucial that our community have access to opportunities to reflect, to share and to celebrate together all while imagining the future.
Frye Festival is Atlantic Canada’s biggest literary happening and a bilingual celebration of books, ideas and imagination.
Amounting to ten days of festivities, the festival takes place at the end of April and unfolds in the Greater Moncton region, in neighbouring communities, and, in the case of school visits, all over the province.
Through its creative approach, the festival allows for words to jump from the page.
Writers in the School is one of Frye’s key programs, where a dozen French and English authors bring books to life in over 100 classrooms all over New Brunswick.

Through reading and writing workshops, students discover contemporary literature, develop their taste for words, and strengthen their sense of cultural belonging.
Activities take place in New Brunswick public schools, including immersion programs.Discours/e is designed to be a hub for our region’s literary and cultural scene, a space where critical essays on literature by local authors mingle with academic articles and video archives, a space fully invested by the Atlantic literary and cultural milieu.
Discours/e is a bilingual digital catalogue which offers visual and audio archives, critical essays and articles— reflecting the diversity and richness of Atlantic literatures and cultures.

By becoming a sponsor of the Frye Festival and Discours/e, you are investing in much more than just an event.
You make it possible for thousands of people—from children discovering books in the classroom to adults meeting internationally renowned authors—to access the transformative power of literature.
Your support directly promotes literacy, bilingual cultural exchange, and the discoverability of Atlantic voices in Canada and internationally. Together, we are making literature accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for everyone.
