Noel Bourque
Programming Manager
Originally from Cap-Pelé, a former small village in Westmorland County, Noel now lives in Moncton with his family.
Before FRYE, he worked as a bookseller for over 10 years. During that same time he started volunteering at the festival, until 2019 when he was offered a contractual role and never looked back. He is now responsible for FRYE’s programming and has proudly represented the organization as a board member of the Canadian Association of Literary Festivals, as well as the Atlantic Book Awards. When he isn’t reading books or reading about them, he can be found curating your next read at Bardo Books.
FRYE Jam
Discover literature at its most thrilling and engaging: readings by our guest authors, accompanied by musical improvisations from Umläb and captivating projections by Carole Deveau.
Are You Afraid of the Dark?
We’re bringing our own version of this ‘90’s TV classic to FRYE. Join our Midnight Society (at 8pm) for an evening of surreal and hypnotic readings. This is a sinister experience you won’t want to miss.
FRYE Cabaret
Join us for our first ever FRYE Cabaret! Our six authors will read from their latest work, accompanied by drummer, percussionist and composer Martin Daigle.
Presented in partnership with l’Été musical de Barachois
Like You'd Understand, Anyway
This event will begin with a Flash FRYE reading by Natalie Rice (Nightjar, Gaspereau Press), followed by an in-conversation with Maria Reva (Endling, Knopf) and Souvankham Thammavongsa (Pick a Colour, Knopf). Join us as our guests discuss clichés, ambition, paths not taken, and entertaining loneliness.
