Catherine Leclerc is a professor in the Department of French Language and Literature since 2005. She teaches translation and Canadian and Quebec literature, with a focus on linguistic minorities. Entitled "Shared Languages? Cohabitation of French and English in Contemporary Literature," her doctoral thesis examined literary texts in which languages coexist so intensely that they challenge the notion of language in texts used to categorize literature. Since then, she has continued to focus on literary multilingualism and the translation of this heterolingualism. Her current research focuses on contemporary heterolingual songwriting, as well as inclusive writing and translation.
